Raised in Orion Township, John Carson has deep roots in the community and a lifetime of dedication to its betterment. From his early days at Pine Tree Elementary to his formative years at Lake Orion High School, where as a student athlete, John was a key member of the Lake Orion Dragons football team, contributing to back-to-back 9-0 playoff-bound seasons. Through his experiences on the gridiron, he learned the importance of discipline, determination, and collaboration. John credits the influence of great teachers and coaches who instilled in him invaluable leadership skills, emphasized the importance of teamwork, and highlighted the value of fostering good chemistry within a team. These lessons, learned both in the classroom and on the field, have been foundational to his approach to community involvement and service. graduating as a proud Lake Orion Dragon in 1990, John has exemplified the spirit of Orion: resilient (Orion Tough), caring, and community-focused.(L.O.ve)
Throughout his life, John has been actively involved in various initiatives that enrich and strengthen Orion Township. As the founder and President of the local 501c(3) organization, Friends of Camp Agawam, he has spearheaded efforts to preserve and improve the beloved local park, ensuring that future generations can continue to enjoy its natural beauty. John is not only a leader of a nonprofit but also a dedicated advocate for important causes. As an ambassador for the Real Men of Orion’s Men Wear Pink team, he passionately supports the fight against breast cancer, raising both funds and awareness for this critical cause. John is an active member of the Lake Orion / Oxford Fraternal Order of Eagles, further demonstrating his commitment to community service and engagement.
Furthermore, John is an integral part of the Orion.Events team, overseeing the successful summer concert series at Wildwood Amphitheater. His involvement in organizing these events demonstrates his commitment to providing enjoyable experiences for residents and visitors alike, further enhancing the vibrancy of Orion Township.
With a deep understanding of Orion Township and a genuine love for its residents, John is uniquely positioned to serve as a Township Trustee.
