Hello, I’m Bill Reiss. Former teacher, coach, Associate Principal and Athletic Director at Lake Orion High School.  I know that in the next few months, you’ll have some important decisions to make. One of those will be selecting your Orion Township trustees. This year, John Carson has put his name on the ballot.  I’ve known John for just about as long as I’ve known anyone. I’ve known him as an inquisitive student. I was in the press box when he caught his first touchdown pass as a member of the Dragon football team. But I remember him most, as the ultimate team player. Making sacrifices for the benefit of others.  More recently, John’s been involved with the resurrection of the Wildwood amphitheater. Unselfishly spending countless hours to bring the best music and entertainment to the Lake Orion area. John has also been a tremendous supporter of local Lake Orion businesses. To the Lake Orion Community. My name is Pastor Tom Donnelly. I have

known John Carson for nearly a decade now. I have had the opportunity to

be his pastor and his friend. Some things you should know about John:

– He is a man of compassion and empathy. He listens and cares. If

he feels something needs to be done, he will work tirelessly to find a

solution. It’s rare to find someone who truly cares about others more

than he does himself. I have watched him over the years sacrifice his

own time and resources to help someone in need, or get to a solution

that might help out many.

– He is a man of integrity. John says what should be done and then

does what he said. As a leader in the community, you will find him to

be honest.

– He has a strong Christian faith. This is John’s true north. It lies in

the background of all of his communication and decision making. He

cares deeply about his fellow man and wants to do right by them.

– He is tenacious. Once he believes that something is needed, he will

tirelessly work until that need is met.

– He is a creative thinker. I have watched John find creative solutions

to things that no-one else could see. I guess one would say he is

gifted as a true out-of-the-box thinker!

– He is a tremendous communicator. Even in difficult situations, he

finds positive ways to communicate. John thinks before he speaks.

Therefore, what he says will be articulate, clear, and precise.

– He is collaborative and a team player. John is not an I am right and

you are wrong kind of guy. He yearns for a one-minded collective

agreement with those he works with.

-John is a good man. He is dedicated to serve and to solve problems. I

provide my strongest recommendation and endorsement for John Carson

to serve the Lake Orion community.

Working alongside John Carson for the last three years in the Real Men of Orion we have become great friends and partners in raising funds and community awareness for the fight against breast cancer. There isn’t a better, more passionate and creative person for this role in Orion Township. A lifelong resident, he is one of those handful of people who you immediately think of when you think of Lake Orion and Orion Township.
